Turmeric Cashews with Rosemary. Kešu oriešky s kurkumou a rozmarínom.

We love snacking on proper fancy snacks when being out of house. But instead of buying bags of oily nuts and crisps, we turn to nuts, that I hapen to have on hand all the time and that I make myself. I always carry around little jars of nuts, seeds and nut butters to help me get through the day if dinner is not coming my way as fast as I would like it to. I adore listening to the crunch of nuts and I adore trying out different combination of flavours that will make you want more and more. And this combination is totally addictive. Me and my boy are hooked.

Buttery cashews, slowly roasted with super spice turmeric, cayenne pepper, sea salt and rosemary. I mean, there is autumn right there. Gorgeous orange color of turmeric, heat coming from the cayenne pepper, bit of saltiness from sea salt flakes and the woody fragrance of rosemary.

Say good bye to the toxic, shop-bought varieties. These are full of iron, zinc, magnesium, anti-inflammatory benefits thanks to turmeric and rosemary and heating properties from the evilish cayenne. It´s the perfect snack for long walks during these chilli, autumn days.

Turmeric Cashews with Rosemary 

2 cups cashews
1/2 tbls coconut oil
1 heaping tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (or according your taste – I like a bit of a heat here)
2 sprigs of fresh rosemary, leaves stripped of the stem
about 1/2 – 1 tsp sea salt
big handful of coconut chips

Preheat your oven to 150°C. Line a baking tray with a baking paper.
Melt your coconut oil. In a bowl, mix together your cashews, turmeric, cayenne pepper and salt. Add in the coconut oil and mix properly until every cashew nut is coated.
Spread on a baking sheet and sprinkle over the rosemary leaves.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes until fragrant and crunchy. Mix the nuts a few times while baking. Take them out of the oven and on another baking tray toast you coconut flakes for about 8 minutes until golden.

Mix it all together and you are ready to snack on health!
Store in an air-tight jar for up to a month. But it will be gone before that, I am sure. You´ll know you have had enough, when your fingers turn yellow thanks to the turmeric. :)

U nas zboznujeme snackovanie na poriadne chutnych malickostiach. Su to hlavne kadejake mixy orechov a semiacok, ktore nam robim doma ja. Takze ked sme niekde mimo domu, namiesto kupovanych, prepecenych a preolejovanych cipsov a orechov, mam pri sebe vzdy malicke flasticky svojich domacich kreacii opecenych orieskov a semiacok (ba dokonca so sebou nosievam aj orieskove masla), ktore mi pomozu prezit den bez hladu ak cas vecere este nie je tak blizko ako by som chcela aby bol.
Mam rada ten zvuk chrumkania orechov, od ktorych sa neviete odtrhnut-take su dobre! A prave tato kombinacia je naozaj na neodolanie. Ja s mojim chlapcom sme uplne zavisli.

Tie maslove orechy, ktore su pomaly pecene so krasne oranzovou kurkumou, kajanskym korenim, ktore doda teplo, vlockami morskej soli a uzasnou voonou rozmarinovych vetviciek. Nadherne farby jesene, vdaka ktorym si mozete veselo pochrumkavat na zdravie!

Zakyvajte raz a navzdy tym toxickym, kupovanym orieskom a zamaskrtte si na orechoch plnych zeleza, zinku, horcika, protizapalovych vlastnostiach kurkumy a rozmarinu a na orieskoch plnych tepla vdaka diabolskemu kajanskemu cili koreniu. Toto je perfektny snack na prechadzky v dlhych, jesennych veceroch.

 

Kešu oriešky s kurkumou a rozmarínom 

2 salky kesu orieskov
1 kopcovita lyzicka mletej kurkumy
1/2 lyzicky kajanskeho cili korenia (alebo podla chuti, kto ma rad ake stiplave)
1/2-1 lyzicky krystalikov morskej soli
1/2 lyzice kokosoveho oleja
1 velka hrst kokosovych lupienkov
2 vetvicky cerstveho rozmarinu

Ruru si predhrejeme na 150°C. Pekac na pecenie si vylozime papierom na pecenie.
Roztopime si kokosovy olej. V miske si spolu zmiesame kesu oriesky, kurkumu, kajanske korenie a sol. Pridame kokosovy olej a poriadne premiesame, dokym nemame obaleny kazdy oriesok.
Oriesky prelozime na pekac, posypeme rozmarinovymi listkami a pecieme do chrumkava a vonava – asi tak 15-20 minut. Pocas pecenia par krat premiesame.
Po vybrati orieskov z rury vlozime do rury pekac, na ktoryom sme si rozlozili kokosove lupienky. Tie opekame do jemne zlatava asi tak 8 minut.
Vsetko spolu premiesame a nech sa paci, makrtime na zdravie!

Skladujeme v uzatvaratelnej nadobe po dobu 1 mesiace, ale stavim sa, ze tie oriesky zmiznu skor. Nech vam chuti!
