Spring Green Smoothie. Jarný zelený smoothie.

 

When I see the spring coming all I crave is fresh, healthy and clean food. As always, actually. But it is more intense in spring – I want the freshness to jump out of the plate. Or out of a glass. And that´s why I love starting off my day with beautiful and nutrition packed smoothie. Especially when the warmth of the Sun wakes me up and I know that the day will be warm, filled with light breeze.

This smoothie has got it all. Amazing creamy texture from soaked oats, natural sweeteness from kiwi and coconut oil, beautiful green colour from spinach and refreshing flavour from lovely herbs like mint and basil.
If you want to add some protein in this smoothie, soaked almonds are such a great addition. Or try some green powders like spirulina or chlorella. Or stir in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds to whip up a portable green pudding in a jar that you can easily take to work with you without spilling anything.

This is actually a great base for any green smoothie, you can play with adding different nuts, protein powders, fruit or any greens you´ve got laying around. Try to use soaked nuts as these are much easier to digest and easier to blend. Have fun, make yourself froggy green smoothie and feel great. Spring is here!

Spring Green Smoothie

1 BIG handful spinach leaves (or any other green sort of vegetable)
1 kiwi (or banana or some berries; even avocado is great)
handful of oats, soaked in your choice of liquid overnight
about 10 soaked almonds (or 1 heaping tablepsoon almond butter)
1 tbls coconut oil
about 200 ml liquid (water, coconut water,coconut milk or any plant based milk)
juice of 1/2 – 1 lemon (depends how much you like)
ground cinnamon (optional)
mint leaves
basil leaves

Put everything except cinnamon and herbs into a blender and blend until smooth. Taste, add pinch of cinnamon, blend and taste. Add in herbs to your liking and add more lemon juice if desired. Blend in some ice cubes if you are feeling too hot. Serve in a nice glass or jar with handful of toasted coconut shavings on a side. Or with some homemade granola. Cheers!

Ked vidim, ze prichadza jar, jedine na co mam chut su jedla plne sviezosti, lahkosti a jedla naplnene zdravim. Vlastne, tak ako vzdy. Ale na jar je to intezivnejsie-chcem aby na mna ta osviezujuca chut doslova vyskocila z taniera. Alebo z pohara! A preto naozaj zboznujem zacinat dni prave so smoothie, ktory je chutny a vyzivny. A hlavne vtedy, ked ma rano zobudia teple luce slnka a viem, ze je predomnou teplucky jarny den naplneny jemnym chladnym vankom.

Tento smoothie ma v sebe naozaj vsetko. Je uzasne jemny vdaka fermentovanym vlockam, je lahodne sladky z kiwi a koskoveho oleja, nadherne zeleny z pouzitia spenatu a plny osviezujucej chuti vdaka bylinkam ako je mäta a bazalka.

Ak by ste si priali zvysit protein vo vasom smoothie, vopred namocene mandle su skvelou volbou. Alebo si do smoothie vyskusajte pridat zelene ´super prasky´ z rias ako je chlorela alebo spirulina. Alebo si don vmiesajte 1 lyzicu chia semiacok a za par minut sa vam zo smoothie stane krasny zeleny puding, ktory si so sebou mozete jednoducho vziat na cesty kdekolvek pojdete a to bez toho, aby ste co i len trosku rozliali.

Tento recept je vlastne vyborny zaklad na hocijaky zeleny smoothie. Mozete sa hrat s roznymi kombinaciami-napriklad vymente mandle za ine orechy, pridajte proteinove prasky, kiwi vymente za ine ovocie alebo ten smoothie ´napchajte´ hocijakou zelenou zeleninou, ktora sa vam doma povaluje. Skusajte pouzit len vopred namocene orechy-tie su pre telo lepsie stravitelne, su nutricne vyzivnejsie a jednoduchsie sa mixuju. Takze mixujte, zabavte sa a uzite si vytvaranie kombinacii skvelych zabaco-zelenych smoothies. Konecne prisla jar! :)

Jarný zelený smoothie

1 VELKA hrst spenatovych listov (alebo zelena zelenina hocijakeho charakteru)
1 kiwi (alebo banan, jablko, lesne ovocie, alebo dokonca aj avokado)
1 mensia hrst vlociek namocenych cez noc
cca 10 mandli, vopred namocenych (alebo 1 lyzica mandloveho masla)
cca 200 ml vami zvolenej tekutiny (voda, kokosova voda, kokosove mlieko alebo hocijake rastlinne mlieko)
1 lyzica kokosoveho oleja
stava z 1/2-1 citrona (zalezi na chuti)
mleta skorica (moze byt, nemusi)
cerstva mätove a bazalkove listky

Vsetko okrem skorice a byliniek hodte do mixera a vymixujte do hladka. Ochutnajte, pridajte skoricu, pomixujte. Dochutte pridanim skorice, citronovej stavy a byliniek podla chuti. Mozte primixovat aj pr kociek ladu, ak citite, ze sa potrebujete schladit :) Podavajte v krasnom pohari alebo flaske s hrstou opecenych kokosovych cipsov alebo s domacou granolou. Nazdravie!
